How Much CBD Should I Vape? CBD Vaping Dosage

How to Find How Much CBD to Vape

CBD is taking the world by storm.

One major reason is that puts the power of relief into your hands. The key to help you deal with so many health issues is finally yours.

Not your doctor’s.

Not Big Pharma’s.

Of course, the flip side is that the decisions and choices are all yours as well. And it’s really getting confusing.

What is the best CBD product for me?  How should I consume it?  How much CBD should I take?

SPOILER ALERT : We here at CBD Vape 4 Life think that vaping is the best.

One of the many reasons is that the question of dosage or  “How much CBD should I Vape?” is so neatly handled.

You see, the answer to that question is simple: you want to vape the exact amount that you need – no more, no less.

Not because there is any danger of overdosing, but because high quality CBD is not cheap and taking too much does nothing but waste it. This is why vaping CBD gives you the biggest bang for your buck.

Variables In Vaping Dosage

At first glance, it seems that vaping would be difficult to dose correctly.

Well, actually it is.

The exact dosage depends upon:

  • The potency of the vape
  • The volume of the inhalation
  • The duration of the inhalation
  • The lung capacity of the user

Depending on these factors, the dose of CBD from a single puff could deliver from 1mg to 10mg.

“But you said it was easy to dose!”

I did. But what I meat to say was – vaping is easy to titrate.

Titration vs Dosage

Dosing a drug is measuring  the exact amount of a substance that is taken.  (If you are looking for approximate CBD per puff click here)

Titrating a drug is finding the amount that produces the desired result.

With vaping, you can titrate the absolute correct amount of CBD with very good precision compared to ingesting.  It couldn’t be any easier.

Puff, wait, see how you feel.  Repeat if necessary.

You don’t need body weight charts, or graduated eye droppers. You don’t need to think about if you have an empty stomach. You don’t need to count to 60 before you swallow your sublingual tincture.

You base it on how you feel. And – unlike ingesting CBD – you can tell pretty quickly whether your CBD is working or not.

Vaping CBD = Instant Relief

Inhaling is the easiest and quickest way to your blood stream. (Have you ever been put under for a medical procedure?)  It bypasses the digestive system and enters your bloodstream within a second or two – as comparing to up to an hour for ingesting.

Keep in mind, CBD is not a drug and one puff is not going to be as dramatic as inhaling THC. But puffing, waiting a few minutes and seeing how you feel is what self-correcting is all about.

I know “seeing how you feel”  sounds less defined than “take 20 mg”. But how you feel is EVERYTHING. This approach makes way more sense than measuring out an amount of something and swallowing it.

Because really, you are not going to always have the same levels of anxiety or pain, right?

Sometimes it’s mild and sometimes it’s acute – migraine or panic attack for example.

So if you anxiety or pain is variable, so should your dosage. Vaping is the only way I know of to customize your dosage to your level of discomfort.

Vaping CBD has other benefits as well that assist in pinpointing your own perfect dose.

Vaping CBD is Calming

When you vape CBD, you are listening to your body and its response.  In and of itself, this is calming. You are practicing biofeedback.

Breath in, wait, listen to you body.

So not only do you get quick relief from the CBD – but vaping in a mindful way can accelerate and augment the relief by getting you in a calm, relaxed state.

It’s combining the goodness of CBD with a  little meditation. You don’t get that from gummies.

Vaping CBD and Bioavailability

Not only in vaping CBD the quickest way to relief, but it is also the most efficient way – which really helps when you are trying to figure out the proper amount to take.

Bioavailability is how much of a substance is actually absorbed and used by the body.

And the bioavailability of vaping CBD is much higher than tinctures or gummies.

In other words, your body absorbs a much higher percentage of the CBD when you in inhale.  When vaping a CBD e-juice, up to 56% of the CBD is makes it into your system and does its good work.

That may not sound like a lot, but it’s up to 5 times higher than edibles and more than twice as high as under-the-tongue drops.

When you take CBD orally, the absorption rate is inconsistent at best. A lot depends on how much food you have in your system which can soak up 95% of the CBD. This is a waste of wonderful hemp extract and makes proper dosage a problem.

Another way to put it is that a “dropper-full” of tincture is not a meaningful unit of measure because you have no idea how much CBD your body will get.

On the other hand, a puff is a puff – with very slight variability while using a the same product.

But of course CBD vape liquids come in different forms and different concentrations or strengths.

What Strength of CBD Should You Vape?

Another answer to the question “How much CBD should I vape?” is:

The least amount you need for relief.  Let me explain.

Good quality CBD is not cheap. You don’t want to waste it.

So common sense would dictate you want to only vape as much CBD as necessary.

Also, wouldn’t it be nice to take a couple of puffs and have your panic attack or migraine start to subside?  You don’t want to have to suck on your vape pen 25 times before you feel better.

We are not advocates for the “start low and work your way up” method. That will just have you working through several bottles of weak CBD.

You might actually become discouraged. I myself stopped using CBD because it wasn’t working. It’s only because I was using a very low concentration.

So I recommend that you don’t buy anything less than 1000 mg/ 30ml in an e-liquid.

Generally, vape cartridges contain a much higher concentration than e-juice in a bottle and are a good place to start if you want to try vaping CBD.

For example – an average bottle of e-juice is 30 milliliters (ml).  If it contains 1000 milligrams (mg) of CBD,  that’s   33 milligrams/milliliter.

If a 1 ml disposable cartridge has 250 mg of CBD – that’s , umm, let me get my calculator –  250 milligrams/milliliter!  That is a far more potent puff – around 2 – 3 mg/puff.

So buy an e-liquid with at least 1000 mg or a vape cartridge with 250 mg to start.

We are entering a new era of health and wellness. We are moving away from popping prescription pills.

CBD is a true game changer.

Remeber – you are titrating! You are going to let your body tell you when you feel better – not a person in a lab coat.

So how much CBD should you vape?

Puff, wait and listen.  Your body will give you the answer.
